15. 有个选项考了whereby
WHEREBY=by which
用法：同in which, whom一样，引导从句(dependent clause)
i.e. the new method, whereby the age of an artifact can be ascertained to within fifty years, will revolutionize the study of ancient history.
建议：考试中尽量避免选择

Use of whereby as a formal equivalent of where is nonstandard and is avoided by careful speakers and writers, who use where or in which instead. The term typically fails readability and comprehension review so it is generally avoided in published works. The term is also avoided by speakers as it makes it difficult to understand the message that's trying to be communicated.

The general sentence structure of the choices were:
a) X; whereby, Y
b) X; hence, Y
c) X, for Y
hence: 不是连词，是副词adverbial. 表示结果，因此 or 未来，将来，以后
Hence= consequently, therefore
i.e. My GMAT preparations were poor; hence, I scored a 200.
For:要靠原文判断
-"for" is hard to say much about without knowing more about the sentence. A sample sentence would be "The Eskimos live in igloos for protection from the wind."
