　　(A) Because an oversupply of computer chips has sent prices plunging,

　　(B) Because of plunging prices for computer chips, which is due to an oversupply,

　　(C) Because computer chip prices have been sent plunging, which resulted from an oversupply,

　　(D) Due to plunging computer chip prices from an oversupply,

　　(E) Due to an oversupply, with the result that computer chip prices have been sent plunging,

　　答案解析如下：

　　(A)Because an oversupply of computer chips has sent prices plunging,

　　【正确】 用主谓结构“an oversupply of computer chips has sent prices plunging”明确叙述了“the manufacturer”做出“宣布”的原因。

　　【大意】 因为电脑芯片的过度供给已经使其价格下跌，制造商宣布其将通过每月关闭工程两天较少产量。

　　(B)Because of plunging prices for computer chips, which is due to an oversupply,

　　【错误】 主谓一致：“which is”本意修饰“plunging prices”(“下降的价格”)，主谓不一致。

　　(C)Because computer chip prices have been sent plunging, which resulted from an oversupply,

　　【错误】 修饰成分：“，which resulted from an oversupply”本意上想修饰“prices have been sent plunging”这个主谓结构，然而在GMAT所考察的标准书面英语中。“，which……”只能做非限定性定语从句，即只能用来修饰一个名词性结构，不可以用来修饰一个主谓结构。

　　(D)Due to plunging computer chip prices from an oversupply,

　　【错误】 固定搭配：“Due to”在GMAT所考察的标准书面英语中仅仅等同于“caused by”，因此只能说“A is due to B”(作A的表语)或“A due to B”(作A的定语)，而不能等同于“because of”作原因状语。

　　【错误】 固定搭配：见(D)。

　　【最优解题思路推荐】

　　(B)中“which is”主谓不一致，立即排除。

　　本句中的“原因”应该是“过度供给抬高价格”这件事，一件事最好的描述方式是使用主谓结构。
