　　(A)Dickinson were written over a period beginning a few years before Susan's marriage to Emily's brother and ending shortly before Emily's death in 1886, outnumbering

　　【错误1】 修饰成分：非谓语动词“outnumbering”在本选项中作状语(动词的修饰语)，其逻辑主语为“Emily Dickinson's letters”，与所修饰动词“were written”的主语相同，这意味着“outnumbering”是动词“were written”的伴随状语，根据与法要求，“doing”应伴随所修饰动词同时发生且同(逻辑)主语。有日常逻辑可知，本题中“outnumbering”(“数量超过”)不应伴随“信件背写”之一动作同时发生，因此修饰关系不合理。

　　【错误2】 句子意思：由日常逻辑可知，本句的句意重心更应该是“outnumbering”(“数量超过”)，如(E)，而非“were written”，因此“outnumbering”作修饰语表意逊于(E)。
